Oops! - When you make a mistake on the job.
I have so much leeway in my job as a Sys. Admin./Support Tech. I could fry things all day and not really get in trouble for it. On a slow day I can test different motherboard configs. just for fun. Most of the stuff in the shop is somewhat old , but still able to learn ya a thing or two.
The job pace is really slow, which is bad, but it gives me time to study. The A.F. isnt into making money, so as long as people arent locked out and they can get thier precious email its all honkey dorey.
Sometimes we fail at fixing things, but hey thats what you get when you have a system of organized chaos like a computer with all its buddies in tow by a wire. Throw in the user trying to be "Johnny LAN guy" and its a recipe for ####. I used to tinker with the worstations too before I got this job, so I see why people do what they do. Anyway...
The A.F. is great to use as a means to an end especially if your young and dont know what to do in life. This job has helped me focus a lot more on my goals than when I was working on the flight line. Blah blah blah Im rambling 'cause Im tired. |
