Well, let’s get this going and introduce ourselves. Come on now, don’t be shy.

My name is Jim Oost. I’ve been in the computer biz for about 22 years now. Started off in the canoe club (Navy) working with main frames, mini’s and micro systems. Assisted with the design of a Univac 1108 system and computer room when I was 19, been on call since then. Got out of the Navy in 91 due to a back injury I received while I was on a bird farm (sorry, aircraft carrier) Spent six months in the smaller Navy (bass boat with a cooler full of frosty cold ones). Landed my current job in November of 91, and I can’t seem to get away. I’m the Network Administrator in charge of over 20 NT4 servers based in Roanoke, Hampton and Richmond VA with close to 500 clients attached. LAN/WAN links RAS and so on. And yes, I’m still on call. In my spare time I do some web design and hosting, and in my really spare time I enjoy cooking (and my friends really appreciate it).
