Ring and Star in Study Guides?

I Noticed in a couple of your study guides you have the definition for Ring Topologies as:

Ring - The ring topology looks the same as the star, except that it uses special hubs and ethernet adapters. The ring topology is used with Token Ring networks.


That seems kind of confusing... Isn't Ring a circle of computers each connected to the 2 computers on each side of it? And a star is computers connected to a central hub?

Am I missing something or whats wrong? Isn't there no hubs in Ring topology?
