Hi,
I have browsed some of the posts and replies on the forum, I remembering seeing a reply that stated that volunteering computer support is a good idea for your résumé. I was wondering your opinion on my particular situation. I have successfully graduated from a vocational school in June of 1999, where I have earned my high school diploma as well as a certificate in computer technology. In Feb 2001 I have became A+ certified, and in Feb 2002 I became Network+ certified. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I now have 2 options;
1. Attend college
or
2. Apply for entry level positions in the I.T. field.
I'm currently a customer service rep. for yankee candle, I have applied for several openings in the past for entry level I.T. positions - unfortunately unsuccessfull.
I'm going on my 2nd year here at yankee candle. I really feel that obtaining a Help Desk position at yankee candle would chance for me to earn experience in the IT field.
I guess I'm looking for some professional guidance.
Maybe I should email the hiring manager that neglected to hire me in the past, and ask him if he would like some volunteer help in I.S. dept. - If you think this would help, how many hours would be efficient?
Or I could attend an On-Line college
Or I could look else where for entry level jobs.
Please reply with your thoughts.
Thanks. |
