Just thought I throw in some hope for desperate IT people...  

First of all, I appreciate what you admin guys are trying to do. Hopefully you enjoy it as well as get paid  

Here's a revelation. I have been overpaid. Yes, last 2 years I was busting my arse working 50-60 hour weeks, and have been ridiculously overpaid. :0 Or at least that's what my research shows the situation is in Philadelphia area where I live ( and you might've been in your area too! )

Well, at least that's how "mature" industry looks at IT pros. And they no longer want to pay premium dollar to a person, which can shut down their primary business databases, or crash their servers because he is allowed into datacenter, or find out how much did management received in bonuses last year (that would probably be ME, #### "overpaid" IT consultant who's been trying to get your system running so that your can make your quarterly numbers and stock wouldn't bite the dust!!! )
