career - How should I go about it

Hello,

I am at the moment working in the biggest distributor in Portugal as Pre Sales Technical Support mainly with IBM products such as AS400 and RS6000 but I also deal with other areas per request from our business partners for a year.
I previous worked for 6 months as Help Desk for a small company that had Windows NT Servers and Windows 98 as workstations.
I have lived in the U.S. for 13 years and I am relocating back next month and I am looking for advice in how should I approach my job searching in the U.S.
I also have letters of reference from my supervisors.
I also know that I need to get more experience.
I also have the following Certifications and I two exam's left for the MCSD:

Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Windows2000

Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Windows NT

Microsoft Certified Database Analysis (MCDBA)

Microsoft Certified Professional + Internet (MCP+I)

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Novell Certified Administrator (CNA)
