MCP certified before college graduation-bad idea?
I talked to my friend about getting MCP certified before graduation from college. She said that getting MCP certified before college graduation is a bad idea for the following reasons:
- An increasing number of students (esp. majors in Computer Science) are now tryng to get some type of certification as a way to increase their chances of getting an entry-level job, especially in this rotten economy.
- Prospective employers will be unimpressed with a resume that contains a MCP certification before college graduation, and their impression is that the student did this to simply try and get a job.
- It doesn't make any sense for a student to be certified as an MCP (or to a greater extent, MCSD) before graduation. Do you know any student who is?
MCSD, MCP, MCSE, CompTIA, A+, etc. are certificate programs for professionals working in the IT field. Yet, it is possible for students currently in college to become certified before they graduate?
I'D like to see some responses and/or views about this. |
