Bachelor Degree and Our Industry.

Hey guys,

I don't post a whole lot, but I do love this site as stated earlier. I have a bit of a dilemna on my hands. Although, I know that certifications are the bread and butter of Information Systems, I am a bit troubled by my degree selections here in San Antonio.

Let me explain, most of the degrees here are a BBA (Bachelors in Business Administration) and emphasis in Information Technology. Now I am not worried about the title, but the classes are 90% business orientated and don't have anything related to IT until you seek a masters. See the link below for one of the colleges I speak of. The only place in San Antonio Texas that I have found that offers a BS(Bachelors of Science) in Info Systems is Incarnate Word, which is 10k a semester (waste of money).

I guess my question is, if I get this Bachelors in Business, and I do plan on seeking a Masters of Science for Info Systems, will this Bachelors reflect more negatively in this industry as a Business compared to a Science?

look at the bottom where you see total lack of technical classes.

P.S. Notice they have a Masters of Science and not a Bachelors of Science in Info Tech... wtf?!?

P.S.S. I will be going on campus tomorrow to find out specifics, but it is still a good question.
