Booting Ios

Hay try changing those parameters.your router could have been set to boot using different bald rates.hope am right.

Did you check the rest of your settings besides speed?

My terminal has the following settings:

Speed - 9600
Data Bits - 8
Parity - None
Stop Bits - 1

Any one of those could produce a large chunk of garbage.
