Difference between conditional forwarding and a stub zone?

Hello, I've had a search through the DNS 'sticky' and haven't found what I'm looking for. In the leadup to my exam I seem to stumbling on one 'minor' part and that is distinguishing when to use 'conditional forwarding' or when to use a stub zone.

If anyone could please give me a really really basic definition (non textbook definition) and an example of when you would use them it would be greatly appreciated
