I achieved my CompTIA A+ cert back in 2005 and after about a year looking for an entry level type job I gave up and basically I am now in a job that I just have no desire to be in (non IT). I live in a very high unemployment area, so jobs are difficult to come by as it is, not to mention someone with no actual work related experience in the IT field. I plan on moving to a larger city within the next year (for personal and job reasons) and I really want get prepared for the task of landing a IT job. Does anyone have recommendations for the next step in certifications? I know Net+ is good to have, but from looking at job postings I see a lot of help desk openings. What would be a good stepping stone to land one of those? I know this question is probably redundant but any advice is appreciated. |
