ICND1&2 or CCNA route

I know that Cisco recommends that new candidates take the ICND1/2 route in order to attain the CCNA

But, I was wondering how people take the CCNA from new?

I've been looking at the ICND1, and feel that it's pretty easy stuff - I am thinking about taking the two in one go.

Considering that I already have lots of experience in networking (albeit not with Cisco) but the general networking technologies, I am very familiar with (Also having an MCSE helps)
