MCSE vs. CCNA - which should i pursue
hi people,
this is my first time participating in a forum, so far, its pretty cool. Im a 22 year male with a AAS degree in business software applications. my degree has me prepared to achieve my MCSE certification. (about nine months away or as fast as i can past all the test). i do plan on getting a BS in MIS or Database management. my issue is, should i go for my CCNA or MCSE. i was planning on both, but is it nessarry? i do internet support for a kodak company and plan on moving into netops, database management, or MIS. my company has promised a nice raise for either certification and possible promotion. i just don't know which certification i should persue. my roomate is studing CCNA and he others say the MCSE isn't worth it at all (because the whole ms issue and Cisco will be around longer), but other (people i work around) say that an MCSE and a BS in DB management would be the best, but im still confused. i love networking and business, so any advice, personal experience, opinion, and feedback would be greatly appreciated. thanks people...:-) |
