Active Directory reorganisation

I have 2 DC on the local networks with WIN2k3 Enterprise Edition installed. Due to costing issue, I have to install the SBS server as the one of the OS replacing the Enterprise edition. As I understand from the MS website, SBS has to be the primary DC in the network.

So I was planning to downgrade the BDC to a normal server, format the current PDC with SBS and promote it as AD and setup everything. Then join BDC back to the network with SBS. Will this work ? This is due to most of the users files and roaming profiles are store in the BDC. I am trying to reduce the work to be done on the progress.

Any other recommendation is welcome !
